The texture of Viscont White granite is its most prominent feature. Each piece of stone is unique due to its distinctive texture, endowing Viscont White with an irreplaceable beauty and character. Due to its excellent aesthetics and physical properties, Viscont White has become extremely popular. A designer from a high-end hotel in New York chose Viscont White granite for the lobby floor, not only because of its elegantly attractive texture but also due to its excellent wear resistance and compressive strength, capable of withstanding the daily foot traffic from thousands of visitors. Viscont White granite accounts for approximately 15% of the global granite market share.
The compressive strength of Viscont White can reach 215 kg/cm². A large shopping center has used Viscont White as its flooring material, with an average daily foot traffic exceeding 30,000 people. After five years of continuous high-intensity use, the shopping center's floor still maintains an excellent appearance and structural stability. Its thermal expansion coefficient is extremely low, with only 0.0045 mm/m per degree Celsius temperature change, ensuring stability under various climatic conditions. An outdoor park project in Alaska is a typical example, where despite the region facing temperature fluctuations from -30°C to 35°C, the Viscont White granite flooring showed almost no cracks or deformations.
Excellent Hardness
Viscont White granite reaches a Mohs hardness of 6.5, which is significantly higher than the average hardness of many common granites, typically between 5 and 6. In a busy commercial center in Tokyo, with an average daily foot traffic of over 50,000, Viscont White granite was chosen as the material for the lobby floor. After several years of high-intensity use, including frequent impacts and dragging of heavy objects, the floor's wear rate was only 0.002 mm/year, much lower than the industry standard wear rate of 0.006 mm/year.
In a study comparing the wear resistance of multiple materials, Viscont White granite performed exceptionally well in standard wear tests. Under the same pressure and friction, the wear amount of Viscont White granite was about 30% lower than that of other ordinary granites. Several office areas used Viscont White granite for their countertops. Despite daily contact with various office equipment and stationery, after five years of use, the number of scratches on these countertops averaged less than 5 per area, with each scratch being no longer than 2 cm, and the surface gloss remained above 90% of its original state.
Lasting Gloss
In the granite industry, Viscont White is especially favored for its reflective ability and wear resistance after polishing. For example, in a luxury hotel in Los Angeles, Viscont White granite was used for the floors of the lobby and main corridors. The hotel welcomes high-end clients from around the world every day, and these areas endure potential scratches and wear from high heels and luggage carts. After five years of high-intensity use, the glossiness of these Viscont White granite floors still remained above 98% of its post-polishing level.
After more than 10 years, including hundreds of exhibition setups and teardowns, the gloss degradation of these floors was very limited, with a retention rate of 92%, whereas the typical granite floor under the same conditions would only maintain about 80% gloss retention. A large shopping center used Viscont White granite for the floors of the entrance hall and main passages. Operational data from the shopping center showed that even under high foot traffic, the glossiness of these floors only dropped by 8% over the past five years.
Strong Wear Resistance
Viscont White excels in enduring continuous physical friction and wear, making it particularly suitable for high-traffic public and commercial spaces. In a busy subway station, for instance, with a daily passenger flow exceeding 100,000, Viscont White was used for the main passage floors. After five continuous years of high-intensity use, the floor's wear depth was only 0.1 mm, significantly lower than the industry standard wear rate of 0.5 mm.
Viscont White was used for all the main passageways, and after three years, the floors still maintained the gloss and smoothness of their initial installation, with a wear rate of only 1%. In an example from an international airport, Viscont White granite was chosen for the floor of the international flight waiting hall, which handles about 50,000 passengers daily. Maintenance records from the airport showed that after five years of continuous use, the wear rate of Viscont White floors remained below 1.5%. This wear rate is much lower than that of typical granite materials, which usually have a wear rate between 3% and 5%.
